A really BIG month!!!

Friday, June 1, 2007

This month we have felt every emotion in the book. We have had our share of sad times and happy times and to put it lightly we were EXTREMELY busy. We are happy to say that our life now seems to be settling into a season of Joy. I will run down the list of events for you, so that you are caught up on our crazy life.

Dylan has learned more things in the past month then any other month of his life. He learned to sit up on his own, crawl, wave, clap, and many signs. Not to mention the fact that he got his first two teeth! His biggest accomplishment was sleeping thru the night!!! It took him awhile to learn, but he is doing wonderful now and seems to be a happier baby during the day. I am particularly excited about this because this meant that I got my first full night of sleep in 10 months! Now that Dylan crawls he is beside his brother every moment of the day. He even wants to play trains with Trent (which sometimes can bother his big brother but luckily Trent shares well). We are very proud of how much our little boy has learned in such a short time.

We were very excited to have my family visit this month. My dad, mom, and nephew Gabriel came out for a little over a week and we had a blast together. Trent loved playing with Gabriel. They kept each other busy the entire week. We went to the St. Louis Zoo and on a train ride on Mother’s day. The whole time was a wonderful experience for all of us and it gave us some much needed encouragement during a difficult month.

We finally have some results for Trent and we are happy to say they are good news! After going through an EEG and being schedule for a MRI & MRA, we are happy to say that Trent has migraines. We wish that we could say he was fine all together, but out of the many scary things that they were thinking he had wrong, we are happy that we can at least control this problem by medication. The doctors believe that reason he was forgetting moments in time was because of the intense pain that the migraines were causing. They said it is similar to an abused child who forgets abuse, children often turn off their memory to forget pain and this is what Trent was doing. Since he has been on the medication he has only had one episode of memory loss, and that was only three days after starting the meds. We are happier then words could ever express to have our little man back to his cheerful self again!

In the midst of everything else happening this month we found out that we are pregnant! We are so excited to know that we will be blessed by one more child in our life. Although there is a lot to take into consideration medically speaking, we are working with my doctor to do what ever it takes to have a safe delivery for the baby and me. We are already so overjoyed with the thought, that we can’t even imagine not having this baby in our lives. And as if that was not enough for one month, we have decided to sell our home. With a new little one on the way we feel that we might need a little more space to fit our growing family.

May was a busy month for us, but we are so overjoyed to go into June with so many things going well for our family.
