This year Nate and I made a new commitment to going on more dates. Now that the kids are older we are rarely are alone and often times one of us is asleep before the kids even go to bed. We knew it was important for us to get more time together as a couple so we took our calendar and wrote down date night on the last Friday of each month for the year. We had no idea what we would do for dates but we knew we were a million times more likely to do it if we put it on the calendar. I am so happy to say we have not missed one date and we have made so many special memories together this year thanks to our date nights. For July's date night we went to a concert together at our favorite venue. We had so much fun enjoying the music and the summer air. We were carefree, enjoying the music and smiling ear to ear together while we watched the show. While not every date is a big event, every one has refreshed us and left us smiling and feeling in love. They help us feel like...well...like we are dating again.

The things we remember are what we hold on to. And what we hold on to becomes the story of our lives.
