I have learned that it is not the big things that make me most proud of my kids. It is the small moments in their daily life that show their character that makes my heart overflow with pride. Aliya the other day had a gift card for Dunkin', she placed her order and without saying a word purchased items for Dylan, Trent, and me. Her generosity and kindness show in her small moments and those small moments make me feel loved by her. Recently Aliya was overwhelmed with math homework and Dylan not only stepped up to help her but sat down and gave up his own free time to ensure that her work got done and Aliya could go to theater practice. His understanding and love for his family are always first in his life and it makes me so proud to be his mom.
All three kids are great kids and these small moments are the ones that remind me of that. Awards and report cards are great but I will take a small moment of kindness over an A in French class any day.
