Twenty years in a blink of an eye. There are moments when I thought life would be easier by now. We would be more financially secure, we would know how things work, and the day-to-day struggles of marriage we would have outgrown. That is not exactly how things are. We still have hard days, misunderstandings, frustrations, and the feeling that we are waiting for life to cut us a break. However, we also have learned how to be more patient with each other, how to be more kind on the hard days, and how a simple look can help us know that we are a team and not working in separate corners. So while twenty years has not made us perfect, it has given us the understanding that perfection is not the ultimate goal, together in a loving relationship is. I am so thankful for our life together, the pages and pages of our life story that includes each other, whether that chapter of life is challenging, fun, or anything else. There is no one I would rather have hold my hand through it all.
