For the first time, Trent was not home for his birthday. This was an emotional experience for me, it is just so strange not to have my boy walking down the stairs on the morning of his birthday and have a banner up and a birthday breakfast made for him. I knew we needed to do something for his birthday that made him know we were thinking of him even if he wasn't living at home. The evening before his birthday we took a trip to Keene and ate cupcakes and ice cream with Trent and delivered his gifts. He was happy about everything but especially happy about the fact that we brought Piper with us to visit. There were lots of hugs and smiles as we spent time together and of course tons of pets for Piper. It was so nice to see him and I am already thinking of ways that we can make the next holiday apart even more special. We are so proud of Trent and the man he has become. He is independent, self-driven, and Happy birthday Trent, I am thankful to be your Mom and so honored to watch you grow and accomplish your dreams.
