Three months ago our life was left scattered across the ground. Pieces of our home and our sense of security were pulled away from us. But now after a very bumpy journey we are back home. We have learned a great deal along the way. At times we felt like we were climbing a mountain, at times we felt like we were in a nightmare, and we constantly felt mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted, but at no point did we ever feel alone. Turning in the keys to the hotel today was a strange feeling and I was filled with many strong emotions. Our hotel room held so many tears from my family, it held many days of stress and it held many nights full of questions, but it also held Trent and Dylan's first day of school, the night Trent lost his first tooth, birthday celebrations and wonderful visits from family. That small room held all the things we had to feel in order to make it through this hard time. Holding each other through the sadness and fear was as important as laughing during tickle fights. It has been quite the adventure, but now we are closing that chapter of our life. A chapter that we will never forget but continue to move forward from. We are stronger family because of what we have been through no matter how hard this journey has been.

ReplyDeleteNot to say your house did not get hit bad,but any time i think about the tornado hitting our street, i think about the houses on the other side of town and how bad they got hit! to this day i know people who's houses still arent done yet because they had to start from scratch!
