We love love love days off around here. It's true, everyday could be like a day off for us, the kids and I are at home and the schedule doesn't have to be strict (but it is) but Nate isn't home and well, that simply isn't a day off. On a regular day we are up, getting dressed eating breakfast, making Nate lunch, sending him off to work with kisses and hugs and then begins our day of school, chores, and typical routine. But a day off is special because that means "Daddy is home" and schedules and routines are thrown out the window. Nate had four days off this past week and we did nothing that you will ever find on a To Do list and we loved it! We went on long drives through the mountains, ate big ice cream cones at a little ice cream shop, got a new library card and armfuls of books, watched movies in pajamas, and baked cookies. We played a lot of toys, pretend, got muddy stomping through the woods and had tickle fights. And while we might not have "accomplished much" that can ever be noticed by others, we did live in the moment with the ones we love and enjoyed every second of it.
"Babies Don't Keep"
I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.

We Love the picture!!!!
