Easter Times Two

Nate had to work this Easter so we ended up celebrating two Sundays in a row.  The kids didn't mind having an extra day for Easter fun.

Dylan's favorite part of Easter was playing outside.  He is so excited that the weather is warming up so he can run and play again.

As I watched the annual Easter egg hunt my mind was filled with thoughts of the first big Easter egg hunt I did with Trent.  He was two years old and we walked down to the library. Trent stood in a field full of eggs and children completely overwhelmed and not knowing what to do.  He picked up one egg and said "thank you" and sat down in the grass. After convincing, he continued to fill his basket and really started to enjoy himself.  Many, many years have passed and Trent as well as my other children, are now experts at hunting for eggs and can't get enough of this fun game.

The kids really enjoyed dying Easter eggs together.  Another tradition they can't get enough of.
The kids and I made our traditional Easter cake.  This is one of my favorite traditions I have with them.  They wanted to make an Easter basket cake and they decorated it with very little help from me.  It came out great, and we had a fun evening together making it.

Trent made this amazing train on Etch A Sketch in just a few minutes.  He included the coupler, wires, and gears on the wheels.  I was amazed.  With all the time in the world, I could never make much more than a staircase on this toy.  He is a very talented young man in every area of life.
Aliya always has had her own style.  She loved her new dress and was so excited that she had "matching socks." One sock was blue and one was pink, just like the colors in her dress, and to top the outfit off she added her Twinkle Toe shoes.  I love her sense of style and thought she looked perfect...as always.

Another early morning holiday....but there is nothing better than waking up early to extremely happy kiddos.  Since Nate was working on Easter we decided to have an "Easter" the week before and the kids loved it!  They didn't take but one second to process "It's Easter????  It's Easter!!!!!"

The kids loved their new books from Grandma and Grandpa and finished them in two days.  Books are always a hit in our house!
Aliya loved her present, but as always, cared most about getting CANDY! She eats very little at a time so she can save it because it is "just so so sooooo yummy".

This little big boy is in love with Hero Factory and was beyond ecstatic about his Easter gift.

Trent was happy to have new things for his HO Model train track and of course his favorite, a chocolate Easter Bunny.

Overall, it was a perfect Easter times two!!
