One Very Sweet Boy

Dylan had a whole weekend full of celebrations to honor his Birthday.  We went to the beach, a family party, Chuck E. Cheese with a friend, and even the Drive - In and of course, Dylan got to make every decision during those days. He was so sad to have his birthday come to an end that he said "I just wish every day could be my birthday because it is just so cool!" It is hard to believe that he turned 9 years old this past weekend, I would have sworn he just turned 8 the other day! What a fast year and yet filled with so much growth and change.

Dylan is an expert at video games.  He can easily beat his brother, sister, dad and myself.  I have no idea how he got so good! While he likes games, he will quickly put them down if there is an option to run or swim instead.

He still is completely in love with being outdoors.  If you are not sure where to find him just look up as he is most likely in a tree.  He is a ball of busy happy energy but loves to be home more than anywhere else in the world.

More often than not you can hear him talking about a dish idea he has for his restaurant when he grows up.  His restaurant is named Dylan's Dogs and Dinner (both dogs and people can eat there).  He loves thinking up foods that he can mix together for bigger and better flavor. He is constantly adding hot sauce to his meals and thinks everything is better when it is bold in flavor. He can not get enough of helping me in the kitchen or watching the Food Network.

This little man will try ANYTHING once and do it with a big smile on his face. He is adventurous in every bone of his body. The more risk the adventure has the more he will enjoy it!  However, he still would much prefer to jump off a wall or eat squid then to have to talk with a someone he does not know well.

He has the sunniest disposition that you ever did see. He's the most loving and friendly little boy and is all smiles and hugs; not to mention that he is SO funny! Dylan is the bright spot in my day, and constantly reminds me to stop taking life so seriously and to laugh more.

Happy Birthday sweet boy!  You are loved so incredibly much!
The Birthday Boy requested that I make him homemade mint chocolate
ice cream cake and cherry cheesecake (for his other party).
I figured this was because one normal cake would be good enough for this extra sweet kiddo.
