Our little man graduated from Kindergarten on Friday. It was adorable to watch him as he received his completion certificate, danced to music, and stood up as they called his name to receive his awards. Trent earned awards for excellent conduct, first place Young Authors Award, Best Cover Young Authors Award, and for walking over 40 miles. We are extremely proud of him. I have to admit as Pomp and Circumstance played and my son walked through the door I realized how quickly time was passing. It is so hard to believe that my first little baby is already going into first grade. The last six (nearly seven) years has flown by. Trent has gone from a tiny baby who needed his mom and dad to care for his every need to a child who teaches me new facts everyday. I am so thankful to have such an intelligent, kind hearted, amazing son. He makes me feel so proud and lucky everyday.

What Trent learned in Kindergarten is...
How to count to 100...by ones, twos, fives, and tens.
How to read, not just site words, but pick up a book and read it start to finish.
How to add and subtract.
How to tell time.
How to count money.
The process of an egg growing into a chic.
Where meat really comes from.
About police officers, doctors, dentists and many other jobs.
How to plant a seed and wait patiently for it to become a flower.
How beavers make damns.
and many many many many more amazing things.
Trent had a wonderful first year of school and we are excited to continue watch him learn and grow in the future. At this point he says he is going to become a paleontologist, so it looks like we will have quite a few more graduations to attend!

Congratulations Little Man!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I just have to ask . . . What is with the pretzil on his cap and tee-shirt? Is that really his school's symbol? There has GOT to be a story behind that.
Congratulations Trent! Wow you have sure learned a lot in one year. Keep up the good work.
