Our school does a wonderful job putting on a program for Memorial Day. The kids sing songs and say thank you to veterans both past and present. My kids were very excited to give a poppy to my dad and thank him for his service. I'm very appreciative that the kids learn more about this holiday and grow to appreciate just what it means. The kids understand that it is not just another day off filled with burgers and sunshine but the true cost of our freedom.
