The Candy Games

It is hard to admit but Halloween in the form of trick or treating is quickly coming to an end for our family. We had a great time out with Dylan and Aliya trick-or-treating this year but Nate and I definitely missed having Trent with us to celebrate. So after a little creative thinking I came up with a new tradition. We called it the candy games. The night after Halloween we played silly games to earn candy to put on top of an ice cream sundae. Our games included Candy Hunt which was Finding hidden candy with the lights out in our house and only using a flashlight. We also had games that involved making a mask out of sticky notes, mummy wrapping with toliet paper and hunting for gummy worms in whip cream. They were very silly games and we worked together with rotating as we went along. It was an absolute blast. There was so much laughter and noise in our house you would have sworn there was more than five people in it. I think that we had more fun playing our candy games then we have trick or treating in recent years. The kids were so thrilled and all three asked to do it again next year. It is hard to let go of old traditions but it is much easier when I know even more fun is to come. The kids have grown up and have become capable of so many amazing things including fun things like hunting for gummy worms in whip cream.
