Things I Know to be True

I think that we are always growing and changing and what we know one day might not be true for us the next. However there are some things that we learn to be the truth for us even if it is just for a short chapter of our life. I love to ask the kids what they know to be true. Sometimes they tell me funny answers, sometimes serious ones and sometimes ones they've said before and sometimes something new. We are all learning and growing and discovering the truth of our own selves every day.

A list of things I absolutely know to be true...  for right now at least...

• Staying cozy at home with those you love is a gift.
• Getting up early and starting the day slowly is the very best way to start a day.
• Less is always more when it comes to stuff and often when it comes to friends.
• You never outgrow the need and thrill of learning something new.
• Good food shared with family can help melt away a bad day and celebrate a good one but the key ingredient is always being with those you love.
• Libraries and flowers are always beautiful.
• The energy it takes to get outdoors is far less than the energy you will be given by spending time outside.
• Acting the way you want to feel is how you take control of your day.
• Children grow up quickly and every moment of it is special.
• Dogs and dark chocolate always make life better.
• Having a husband who is your closet friend, gives you the feeling of home no matter where you go together.
• Feel what you feel.  There is no wrong emotion and you, and you alone, are responsible for your emotions.
• Be yourself. Always.
• Life does not have to always hold true to the rulebook or to the agenda. Lighten up and let it happen.
• Some nights are meant for staying up past midnight and having fun and some nights are meant for going to bed early and reading a good book.
• Love generously. Praise loudly. Live fully.
  
• Getting things done now eliminates the stress of wondering when you will get the something done.
• I am loved and I will never have to go it alone.
• In parenting there is a time to be the advisor and a time to be the cheerleader. 
• Enjoy each day and every moment.
