Friday family fun night has been a tradition in our family for as long as we can all remember. Since the children were little we have always planned something special on Friday nights. This tradition has become a bit harder to do now that the kids are older. Oftentimes the kids have an activity that tends to turn into our family activity for the evening, which is always fun but some of the time we can manage to plan something big or even just do a small ice cream and movie at home. Our plans always just depend on the week and what seems to fit in. Regardless, we make sure to do something that is special and the kids first question to us as they walk out of school on a Friday is always "what are we doing for Friday family fun night?" Last Friday night Nate had to work so the kids and I came up with a plan. We decided to go to the Dollar Store and run through the aisles and find as many random little things as we wanted to get for Nate. The kids filled up their hands with random snacks and laughed as they pointed out tiaras that would be "perfect for dad" or the toilet bowl plunger that seems like an ideal gift. We laughed our whole way through the store and ended up spending less than $10 on fun little surprises for Nate. We then drove to the mall and put all of those fun surprises into his car. We attach a sign to a balloon that said "you couldn't be at Friday family fun night, so we thought we would bring it to you!" We had so much fun doing something so small and so silly and Nate was thrilled when he saw his surprise late in the nightvafter his shift. This tradition is random and we never know what fun a Friday night will bring. It is always a great way of smiling a little bit more together and relaxing after a long week and I am so thankful the silly memories it has created.

| I absolutely love his humor and the fact that he always laughs at the kids and my jokes! |
