There was no parade. There was no town picnic. There were no fireworks. But it was still the Fourth of July. Everything traditional was canceled for the Fourth of July this year due to the pandemic. However, we still really wanted to give the kids a day to remember and celebrate. We made yummy grilled food and angel food cake with strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream and for entertainment, we went to see a live outdoor show. It was set up like a drive-in theater but with two empty car spaces on each side of you so that no one could be near another family. It was done really well and we felt safe there and we had an amazing time watching the Adam Ezra Band. It was the first time the kids had gone out anywhere public since March. We were all very excited to get out and do something different and while we didn't have our typical traditions it was truly a great day we will remember.
